Tao Expedition, Day Five

Tao Expedition, Day Five

Good morning from our final day on our sailing journey...from yet another random island from somewhere within the Palawan archipelago.

Time for another incredible meal on the boat - our final lunch.  This is by far the cleanest eating we've had for five days in a long time.  Fresh, clean protein, veggies and of course, Filipino Power...rice!

All good things must come to an end they say.  We can honestly say this was one of, if not the, most incredible travel experiences we have ever had.  We faced fears (go Tim go!), we truly detached from the outside world, we saw things we never dreamed existed, we LET GO.  And we grew even closer to each other through it all.  If you have the opportunity to cruise or sail with Tao, DO IT.  Just do it.  And it’s not THAT expensive.  Not easy to get to, but you can do it.  I know it.  And you’ll be a better person for it in the end by experiencing this little slice of magic that exists here in the Palawan Islands with what the people of Tao are giving to all of us and to their community.  Changing lives in not only the people cruising, but the people working on the entire operation.  Do it.

Here's where we've been over the last five days - route complete!

This is our route then a straight shot up to Coron today.

All the same, it's time to continue on...even though it's as special as it is, it does feel time to go ashore.  Our final dingy from the boat onto land in Coron, where we spent our final night in the Palawan Islands.  Beautiful sunset.  Still have our sea legs.  Doesn't feel right that we aren't boarding again tomorrow morning....

But it's time to fly back to Manila and explore the another part of the Philippines in the rice terraces of the north.
